White Lives Matter California's terrible optics in Walnut Creek

White Californians deserve better representation

CBS News Bay Area reported that “Antisemitic speech has prompted the city of Walnut Creek to join other Bay Area cities in shutting down online and phone-in public comments during public meetings. CBS News quotes Walnut Creek City Councilman, Kevin Wilk, stating that “it's a strategy of far-right, white nationalist groups like White Lives Matter California, who use locally broadcast public forums to broadcast their messages. Wilk has often been mentioned by name by callers, who Wilk said typically use pseudonyms like "Eddie from Walnut Creek" and don't show their faces over Zoom. A few years ago NBC Bay Area reported that banners in Walnut Creek displayed slogans such as "It's OK to be pro-white" and "White Lives Matter."

While I support their right to free speech, the White Nationalist fixation on Jews and fellation of Nazi Germany guarantees that they will never be viable. This inflammatory rhetoric and bad optics are an impediment for Whites to embrace any form of positive ethnocentrism. A conspiracy-minded person might suspect them of being backed by some woke NGO or the Feds to marginalize White identity politics, but I don’t even think this is the case. The reality is that White identity is so taboo that the kookiest voices are the most vocal. Also, these White advocacy groups rely upon getting publicity but don’t seem to have any strong community ties, which are crucial for the foundation of enclavism.

I called out White Lives Matter California on their rhetoric on X and all they could do was denigrate me for being of partial Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. It is not like I get personally offended by anti-Semitic remarks, I just find the obsessive and conspiratorial Jew-hating to be counter-intuitive, especially in the context of California. I am only 1/16th Jewish, though I will bring it up to troll the 1488 types. The Jewish side of my family history actually immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 19th Century.

The ethnic demographics of Walnut Creek are 63.4% non-Hispanic White, 17.7% Asian, 10.1% Hispanic, and less than 1% Black. Walnut Creek’s foreign-born population is 23.1%, with the largest immigrant groups being from China, Iran, the Philippines, Korea, India, Canada, Russia, and Mexico. Neighboring and more affluent Lamorinda (Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda), Alamo, and Danville are even Whiter than Walnut Creek.

Ironically I have called for this section of the Bay Area (Walnut Creek plus nearby Lamorinda, Alamo, and Danville) as one of several candidates for White enclaves in California and criticized the Left-YIMBY push to “integrate” the area. However, Whites in these upper middle class suburbs are very status-obsessed and want absolutely nothing to do with overt White Nationalism, even if they moved to these areas to escape demographic change.

The California Board of Education rejected a petition from Walnut Creek parents to break away from the more diverse Mount Diablo Unified School District to form a new school district that would be much Whiter and affluent. While this area will remain majority White for the foreseeable future, there is increasing pressure on the White upper middle class from high-skilled immigration, primarily from China and India.

The Bay Area and LA metro have a sort of economic Apartheid where economic elitism functions as a substitute for ethnic demographics, which is unhealthy and unsustainable. I assess that these White Lives Matter California guys are probably from the remaining White proletariat which has been extremely disenfranchised. There is practically zero class cooperation and ethnic solidarity between working class and upper class Whites in California. However, White Californians acting as a tribe is probably inevitable in the long run.

There is also a class divide on the dissident right, with the NRX crowd including more people from the White upper middle class, plus tech nerds, impacted by elite overproduction. As the remaining traditional White proletariat is pushed out of California in droves, any successful White tribalism will probably come from the disaffected former White upper middle class, who have much better optics.

What I am in favor of is for Whites, especially in California, to pursue their group interests under a new multicultural paradigm where White enclaves function in the way that immigrant enclaves currently do. I certainly oppose the demographic transformation of California’s remaining White enclaves and believe that White Californians should embrace positive ethnocentrism. I know optics cucks can be annoying, but one has to be smart about how they present their message. White positivity is taboo enough as it is, so it is better to avoid denigrating other ethnic groups.
