I recently spent a day and a half in California’s Capitol, Sacramento, on a road trip throughout Northern California. I was impressed by how urban Sacramento has become, especially since the last time I visited about 15 years ago. There is continuous walkable urbanity from Midtown to Downtown and the Waterfront. There have also been many urban renewal projects over the past two decades.
Are these groups intermarrying on a wide scale, or staying separate?
I live in a similarly diverse area on the East Coast, Wash DC suburbs (Montgomery Co MD). 40% white, 25% Hispanic, 25% Asian, 10% black. Whenever you see couples or families here the white spouse is always paired to a non-white. The local kids are beige/olive-skinned, with dark eyes and unusual facial features. White-white couples are rare. But just a few miles away there are white enclaves with all-white families and standard white kids.
No, not sure since I don't have kids. But I can tell you this: Bethesda MD used to be extremely exclusive. People would give you bad looks if you weren't dressed properly, let alone if there were any non-whites around, and now it's overwhelmingly beige/brown, and no one bats an eye.

Do you have any idea of the percentage of white-only kids at Churchill HS? That used to be pretty exclusive.

Not good at all.
