It's much simpler than that. The reason men are struggling nowadays is because the sex ratio has gone up. There are now more single men than single women, creating more competition in getting women, which is a different from before. But you'll never hear anyone talk about this "elephant in the room." The reason the sex ratio has gone up is, first of all, men live longer than before, thanks to advances in medicine, healthier lifestyles, and the lack of wars. As recently as 20-30 years ago, a single man on a dating site had more options than now, because there were more simply more single women relative to the single male population than now. Also, the decrease in the divorce rate is keeping women married for a longer time than before. It's not surprising at all that Tinder or other dating sites are a sausage fest nowadays. In my 20s in the 2000s I still caught the tail end of the era when the sex ratio wasn't as prohibitively high as now, allowing men (even young men, but especially older men in their 30s/40s/50s) to have some chance of meeting women. That's all gone now. It's a very serious matter. That's why "incels" have become a new phenomenon.

There are no more single men than single women. After all the birth ratio is unchanged. Sure, some immigrational aspects and China's one-child politics have created issues in some countries, but in the west lack of women is not the issue. That women are over underrepresented at dating sites is a completely different issue.

In fact one you realize it is symmetrical, it becomes much clearer. A rise in male incels means a rise in female incels too. (Unless all somehow those female singles sleep around more with the now fewer married men now. I doubt that though.) But we don't call women incels. It is a male aimed slur.

More importantly degrading the issue to 'having sex' is also detracting from the core problem. We see that women who stay single also become unhappy. It takes about 10 years longer it seems, but both men and women end up unhappy.

So there are certainly winners and losers, but overall we made no gains. We just shifted losers and winners.

I am someone who analyzed all the Census data in great detail on this subject. In 2001, the Singles Ratio among Whites 50-55 was 0.6, meaning there were 0.6 single White men for every 1 single White woman in the age range 50-55 (Single is defined as: Never Married, Divorced, Widowed). For comparison, in 2020, that exact number is around 1.0. It's a massive jump in the Singles Sex Ratio for that particular group, and the same occurred in the other groups as well. In the young brackets the Singles ratio was always high, but it used to decrease to 1.0 around 40 and would keep falling after that. Not so anymore. Now, single men outnumber single women until the 50s or 60s. Regarding the birth ratio, the birth ratio is already a bit high (1.05 -- more boys born than girls), but it used to decrease due to higher male mortality. Now it doesn't approach parity (1.0) until the late 50s.

Of course but that is a different issue. Women always married a slightly older man. But in reverse as a male incel you hence just aim at younger women. The incel problem still - obviously - isn't because there are somehow less women now.

The problem is the single women have no interest in many of the single men. And hence, they both stay incel/single and both become unhappy.

great article, the one subset of population that seems to be over looked by the woman is the alpha widows to rode the cock carousel/sex and the city fairy tail until there mid thirties and then became bitter spinsters

Gee, can't imagine why. See my post above.

Sexual liberation only exists in a society without crushing scarcity. Turn the clock back (or forward) to a point where life is short and brutal, and the sexlib nonsense blows away like so much dust.

And no wonder I could not relate to any of them. I'm sure age is a factor too. The big thing IMO that the SR did was to let women think that they could behave as men do sexually. They can but forever be outcast as sluts or whores. What is the male word equivalent? There really isn't one, is there? Exactly my point. And now, from what I observe online, single, young men today disdain marriage, relationships and women. Way to go assholes!
