White liberals since George Floyd remind me of Lady Macbeth in Act V:
"Out, damned spot! out, I say! What, will these hands ne'er be clean?" etc...
They will denounce and atone even to the point of renouncing themselves, their families, countries, cultures, the specialties they've devoted their lives to, even if it hurts the futures of their children, anything to prove that they're not "Racist" and that they reject White Supremacy in all its forms.
All these constant cries about Racism and White supremacism are less political statements and even less connected to any reality, but more like pleas for attention and for status. And, no wonder they're constant and ubiquitous, they really work!
After watching people willing to do or say just about anything for public absolution, it reminded me of something I'd seen before....and if it's something deeply human that seems to keep reappearing thoughout history in various guises, most likely Shakespeare has best addressed it.
