Great analysis. A disappointing election but predictable in hindsight. Conservatives gotta give up the hopium that a MAGA adjacent candidate is gonna break through because we're fed up. No they're not. I think rather, as you point out, it's a threat from the hard left that will get people to support a DINO like Caruso or a mod Dem like Daniel Lurie in SF.

My hopium is a candidate that supports YIMBY and walkable urbanism but also law and order, tough love for homelessness and so forth. To that end, I voted for Matt Mahan who joins my long list of candidates that went nowhere like Michael Shellenberger and Tulsi Gabbard.

Many of us are none too fond of the white wealthy in California nor the billionaire tech bros. Neither Republicans nor Democrats can stop the favelaization of much of urban California.

California should have been it's own country from the beginning or even broke away in the early 80s.

California is already a favela, by all standards but the slums are in Arizona etc. Favelization is a frivolous word that means almost nothing and signifies the anxieties of low born White Americans against even lower born non-Whites. California is already a high class favela which is to say it’s no favela at all, and every immigration wave is upper middle class Cosmos from their respective cultures. You’re more likely to see favelas in Chicago, New York or especially Texas. Again this frivolous woe is me attitude suits Arkansas low whites but is hard to stomach from Red Country landscaping wealth kids most of whom will never blame their realtor fathers.

No, not all of California is a favela but the urban areas increasingly are outside exclusive neighborhoods for wealthy white trash and Asians, etc. Wealthy whites and Jews largely helped make it this way. Even so, much of rural Northern California remains livable outside agricultural areas where brown cheap labor makes up a large percentage of the population. I don’t know what the fuck you by mean ‘low born’ and high brown’ whites. While there are certainly class differences on different levels the white ‘high born’ in the United States along with elite Jews transformed the United States into the rapidly deteriorating society it has become. Popular culture is determined by elites or ‘high born’ and marketed for the ‘low born.’ White poor in trailer parks don’t influence or shape popular culture.

Arkansas is nice state with (mostly) nice people and some great scenery (Ozarks) and some of these nice people reside in trailer parks. I’ll take some of these folks any day as neighbors over rootless cosmopolitan bourgeois white trash I’ve interacted with and lived among in both L.A. and The Bay Area.
