All politics must be aestheticized, with the objective to visualize and strive for the society you ideally want to live in. However, people who already have access to beautiful places or high social capital tend to be content with the status quo and don’t want to rock the boat.

Makes sense… they don’t have to see the ugly side of the policies they vote for or ask why Trump is saying we need to deport and shut the border.
I live in a nice neighborhood full of “conservatives” like this. They think Trump is insulting their nice cleaning lady Maria who just wants to get her 18 family members here so they have a better life. Of course none of them can tell me why their lives are so bad in a country they chose to take a vacation in but claim the people must be let in here.
Their children don’t have to attend a school where the different races at lunch are fighting each other like in Sunland California High schools or at North Hollywood high where the police have to stop the Latinos and Armenians and blacks from murdering each other. Or gang fights at Santa Rosa High.
Rank has its privileges. Those who can hoard resources, including public safety, social capital and artistic/cultural heritage. This is unremarkable. From their perspective (and that of the regime) the good things in life are scare and should not be wasted. It has to be this way because the leadership classes have no urgent need to be concerned for the wellbeing of subordinate classes.
